Concurrent Validity of the Bracken Basic Concept ScaleMedical College of Wisconsin Planned comparisons were made between the Bracken Basic Concept Scale and the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised, the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts, and the Metropolitan Readiness Tests. Most comparisons generated significant correlations that ranged from .48 to .67. Dependent t tests were also conducted between mean standard scores and indicated that while the Bracken Scale did not differ from the Peabody, it yielded a lower mean score than the Boehm but a higher score than the total Metropolitan. Discussion focused on the similarities and differences of the measures studied.
